Server Ports
I'm currently setting up LinuxGSM for Insurgency:Sandstorm (been looking forward to this one) and I'm curious about the choice of server ports.

Normally the query port is 27015 (not rcon) as the query uses the same query method as Source Query

Secondly, UE4 servers are typically port 7777 for game servers.

Obviously, we can set our own ports however I am in general finding that different UE4 developers are much more divergent when it comes to things like ports, command line parameters, directories and config files when compared to the Source engine. This is causing me a little bit of a headache of standardizing UE4 servers.

I am reviewing all LinuxGSM supported UE4 servers currently as each developer is doing things slightly differently.

Loving the new Insurgency game so far!

Well there is no normal port tbh
Everyone use different ports and people can still connect it to the game
I use 23456 for my port

All you have to know is the port is use for connect to the game and the queryport is use for steam server browser to show up ur server stats. For the rcon port you gonna put ur own port in it. There is no default for it and people just put the number they want.

You use ?port and ?queryport to set ur port in the parameter

I think it is worth using a certain standardization. The NWI instruction indicates the standard ports that most will use -Port = 27102 -QueryPort = 27131. Rcon should by default be different than the one used in the Source engine (27015)

don't use the -Port and -QueryPort cuz it seem like it kick people out when map change
Using the ?port and ?queryport lower that kick chance for some reason

Standardisation is what im looking for. Source engine servers all used to same standard ports e.g 27015 as a default. Making things a little easier and more consistant. UE4 seems to be a bit of a free for all regarding how things work

The start parameters are as per the instuctions provided I can update the parameters to reflect your reccomendation. Using both a ? and a - is exactly the sort mix n' match issue UE4 servers seem to have. Whom ever had the decision should of picked on a stuck with it.

I may decide to set standard ports for all UE4 servers overwriting the developers choice. I wont matter too much and just make things more constant on my end.

If you want a Standardisation, I recomend the Steam standard ports, in this link.
