And deleted the .sys files in each folder, restarted, and now the game launched OK.
Thanks for reading my blog
Can you run the game locally?
What were the intermittent crashes you mentioned?
That was a rollercoaster. I would try putting the game folder in any anti-virus or anti-malware software you use. Some of them are super aggressive and can cause issues when trying to run the game. After you've done that, verify the integrity of the game files through Steam.
I would also recommend that you restart your PC.
No rivia, no afterburner, MSI 'fast boot' is off. I'll try launching without 'game boost' and XMP. I have had these on for most of the time using this PC but did have some (scary power off) crashes running the game when trying to put even more volts through my CPU. Have used the same antivirus the whole time without EAC problems and I'm not keen on whitelisting anything unless I absolutely cannot find a fix.
Just reinstalled and rebooted, CPU and RAM settings set to default, I'll see how it goes.
Drivers have been recent since December too.
Fixed? I guess it didn't like the OC or re-reinstalling did it.
