Will I like this game if I don't like Escape from Tarkov?
I really didn't enjoy my time with Tarkov. First game, caught someone 5 meters away from me, but somehow all my shots were missing and the opponent turned around and killed me in 1-2 shots.

I would like to think I didn't like Tarkov because of the PvP and just running around not finding anyone for a long time and then just die suddenly without even seeing anyone, and that this doesn't really apply to I:S. But I just want to be cautious.

Also, I really didn't like about EFT was the overall complexity and restrictions. Like all the inventory management, getting a ton and different kinds of loots, injuries carrying over to next round, having to wait hours before you can play a new round again with the left-side character if you don't want to heal your main, the complex market system, etc. Those issues are more annoying to me that getting killed without seeing anyone since often time this is player's own fault.

Hi,

You can get killed in this game without seeing your enemies, this can happen in most FPS games and can be avoided by extensive map knowledge.

However, I never needed to run around for long in Insurgency, in order to find and take out enemies, the game is pretty fast paced for what it is, a hardcore shooter.

I'd say give it a try, if you dislike it, refund it. But make sure you don't play the game longer than 2 hours.

Good luck

If you don't like that I'd say absolutely don't buy this, that's what this game has become, and a very significant portion of your deaths will come from that.

Insurgency Sandstorm is nothing like EFT.

I never played Tarkov. But even without playing it, I can say it has a lot of BS. Insurgency has much less BS.
Thanks everyone for your replies. Another thing I really didn't like about EFT was the overall complexity and restrictions. Game is good but if you are on EU server then after 10 pm you will not find many full games. Every time I try to play after this time I get shoved in games with 10 players or less.

If you just want action, this is the game you want. Concept is super easy, you just jump in and play the obj. Now ofcourse getting good has quite a learning curve. First you have to learn the maps and tactically you also have to learn alot, like how to move (keeping all your angles covered while moving is really key to survival and mistakes are easily made), when to peak and engage or not etc.

EFT is total different concept.
Main thiing there is to get alive with loot out from a raid.

Sandstorm is objective based (coop) and depending on game mode (normal or hardcore) the game speed is different.
Its maybe here and there not easy but i like this game.
Sometimes i got also an instant hit from the bots so you have to deal with it.
But its less frustating then EFT.
PvP is not bad but i play mainly coop (players vs quite good bots).

you could also try S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
EFT took inspiration from this game and it also has save states to lean back on.
it's essentially the grandpa of EFT
plus, the mods for the games are amazing, especially for Call of Pripyat.
i really enjoyed it even as a casual gamer.

but, if you just like solid gun-play, insurgency 2 and sandstorm are good games.

The 2 are nothing alike, Tarkov is undeniably a better quality game though and this is coming from someone who's played Insurgency more. Sandstorm is fun as hell, just don't let anyone trick you into thinking this is a "tactical" game, this games about as tactical as a ham sandwich XD

What do you think makes Tarkov a better quality game? Like it's more like an AAA game compared to a more indie game?

It's better polished, optimized better, especially considering how many more systems it has in place on a technical level, bugs are actually fixed XD it's just clear it's had more effort put into it's development. With Insurgency many people who've played 2014 Ins and Sandstorm say 2014 is better... Again, I've played more Sandstorm then EFT, and notice I didn't say I thought EFT was a better game, I said it was a better QUALITY game. You really can't compare the 2 too well when it comes down to it.

please tell me you are trolling
tarkov has the worst netcode of any online game that actually costs money
it's so bad you can't even peek a hallway and then take cover without being shot 5 seconds later by someone in it
