Best assault rifles for the Rifleman?

I usually run the VHS-2 and QBZ-03.

I actually prefer a battle rifle, the FAL, usually a double tap is enough to put an enemy down. I used to use the British version of the same rifle in Insurgency, the L1A1 SLR.

What is the best for one player might not be for you, so I'd suggest trying them all and see which you prefer.

Points wise, M16A2 is most deadly weapon in the Rifleman class if you can single shot with laser handle or use 3x scope. If I want close range auto fire I get AUG, or AKM is good for penetrating armor... M4 is probably the best all around compromise but costs alot.

The AUG actually has near-identical damage to the AKM and can even two-tap a Heavy Armor target from further away.

For pure lethality, the VHS-2 and F1 FAMAS both have zero recoil when aiming down sights and basically instakill whatever poor bastard you're looking at.

m16 since day one, does the job, spares points for nades.

The best assault rifles for me are the ones on 3 points.
Akm and Type 97 for Insurgents and G36 and AUG for Security.
You can't go wrong with them and you still have plenty more point for something else.
