Just checked a few minutes ago and could not find any public community servers for whatever reason. Searching a game within EU took multiple minutes, when searching for North / South America a game was found within 3 seconds.
Would say - the game is only a few bucks right now (if you don't have the pass) so it can't hurt. The first insurgency was fun as well and had a stable playerbase which made the game casually playable + if you don't mind American servers (dunno about your region) then it should be fine anyways
The same since long time ago... Now that I think about it and after reading Rinemu replies, how are we supposed to measure the exact number of players once crossplay becomes effective? Sure, we can always tell wich ones are from Steam because of the own site and also SteamDB, but what about console/gpass? If anyone has any ideas it would be great to know
>is it worth getting this game?
In my opinion yeah, but you can always buy it, try it, and refund it if you dont like it, as long as do not exceed two hours inside of it ofc. Its still a long way from being "dead" honestly, aside from specific issues I can find official matches without any problem
I play every night at the moment and I find it enjoyable to play. I play co-op and have no problems finding and joining a game quickly. This is after I finish work so after 5 or 6 pm UK time.
I think Steam allows you to play a game for less than 2 hours before asking for a refund, try it and see for yourself, but 2 hours isn't long enough for this game in my opinion, depends on the map and team you're playing alongside, some maps are completed quickly, some take much longer.
player quantity is there as everyone says, but its a trollfest now with a mix of fresh accounts topping the scoreboards and high levels having no clue what they're doing.
The game has always had a small but dedicated player base pretty much since release.
here's how it is going, LOTS of new players and still a declining trend.
most people leave after a few weeks/months because how bad the game is.
it has been graphically downgraded a dozen times since release, and probably has more bugs now than ever. Plus there are already set up troll squads if you try to discuss any real issues on the forum.
INS 2014, although almost dead with close to 200 players a day, still looks and plays better.
Good game, my favorite FPS in fact.
PvP is a bit more spotty, but still usually gets full rooms if you aren't playing at the opposite of prime time for your area.
The game has pretty persistently kept it's steam numbers in a 2.5-5k range as normal traffic. Updates and sales naturally spike some, but it's consistently settled in that range, and is also available on other platforms, meaning steam's player counts don't tell the whole story.
90% of players in every game mode are new ( under level 50 )
