Game won't launch
Long story short, been playing all these years no problem, but since yesterday the game does not launch. Actually, the game launches fine when I run the .exe file directly, but after 2 minutes I get kicked out because it has problems communicating with Easy Anti Cheat. And when I run it through Steam, the EAC starts running, and then nothing. I have an Insurgency process in the background in Task Manager, but the game does not run. If I try running it again through Steam, it says one instance is already running...

So it's definitely an EAC problem. I verified game files multiple times, reinstalled EAC, changed registry values, disabled Avast, pretty much everything. Any ideas?

This is from their Discord i actually followed all the steps and it worked for me:

1) Navigate to %localappdata%\Insurgency\Saved\SaveGames
2) Copy the contents of the Profile folder to the SteamProfile folder.
3) If you're prompted to Replace or Skip Files, select "Replace the files in the destination"
4) Select all the files within the "SteamProfile" folder
5) Right-click and select "Properties"
6) Check the"Read-only" attribute
7) Click "Ok"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some common fixes for getting kicked out of the game because of a 'client integrity violation' or EAC:
- Verify game files
Right click on Insurgency Sandstorm in your library, click on properties and head over to the local files tab, then click on 'verify the integrity of game files.'

- Make sure your OS system clock is synced
- Allow all access through your firewall/anti-virus
- Don't use a VPN
- Complete a Network Reset
- Run Insurgency as an administator
Go to \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sandstorm\

Right click Insurgency.exe, select "Properties" and then go over to the "Compatibility" tab, under the "Settings" menu, check off the box labeled "Run this program as administrator"and then click "Apply"

What .exe did you use?
The InsurgencyEAC.exe or the Insurgency.exe?
Tried both as admin?

Tried this one?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\sandstorm\Insurgency\Binaries\Win64\InsurgencyClient-Win64-Shipping.exe

Maybe one is working.

Check if there's crap running in the background, too. Like screensavers, overlays, RGB stuff.
For testing, kill every task you don't need in the taskmanager and try again.

I tried all three, the thing is that the game launches just fine when you run the .exe files directly, but when you join a game online you get kicked out after about 2 minutes with an error that says: "Kicked out: problem communicating with Easy Anti Cheat" or something like that. And when you run it through the library the EAC screen shows up, and then closes and nothing happens afterwards.

I've tried messing with the anti virus and firewall settings and now I'm getting: untrusted system file vcruntime140.dll

The solution seems to be to either reinstalling Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable, which I have done and didn't work, or to reinstall Windows. Honestly I'm not that desperate to reinstall my whole f***ing Windows just so I can get this crap running, especially since I could play it like 2 days ago with no problems.

Try to wipe it (deinstall, renaming appdata Insurgency folder).
Have you checked here? The guy had your problem — he reinstalled Windows, but someone posted a working solution apparently.
I have a different issue that started after the latest update (v1.18). I get a missing .dll error, even though the file is clearly in the folder. The specific file is located at: Sandstorm/Insurgency/Binaries/Win64/pros.sdk.x64.dll. I’ve tried everything, but nothing worked.

I uninstalled Steam, Insurgency, and EAC separately, cleaned the registry each time, and manually deleted all leftover folders after each uninstall. I also updated Windows 10 and my drivers. Still no luck.

When I try to launch Insurgency directly from the game’s folder, the error message pops up instantly. So I really think the issue is related to the game itself — not Steam or EAC — otherwise there would be at least a short delay before the error appears.

It's been a while since I've had this error, just want to say that I eventually fixed it by downloading a Windows Certificate file that was causing an issue with my Avast Antivirus. Avast was showing that it was malware, and I just found the file online and replaced the certificate on my PC. No idea how the Windows Certificate is related to this game or EAC, but that is what worked for me. Hope this helps someone who has the same issue!
