The Desert Eagle is not a good weapon for combat, games made it popular by showing this literal Handcannon destroying everything else. That's not how it works in real life. And this game wants to be more realistic than games like COD or BF while also trying to be a fun game at the same time, aka not a simulator.
The only military that uses it i heard was the Polish JW GROM, who use it as a breaching device.
Lmao what are you sorry for? Asking for something is not a crime, im just explaining why it wouldn't work in Sandstorm.
But i mean... We did get a Welrod... I still would prefer a powerfull revolver instead, because i love powerfull revolvers... (:
You already admitted that it's a gun that would actually exist in the scenarios that the game is attempting to simulate, which IS a good reason to at least consider it as a possible candidate for new updates.
Furthermore, your objection that the gun would somehow compete with primary firearms is nonsensical. It's a matter of balance at the end of the day, the devs can tweak any properties they want in order to make it fit without breaking the meta. Even if they made it incredibly powerfull, there's no reason to assume it would compete with primary weapons or even other secondaries. Having just 8 rounds is a big detrement, even if you have a high caliber, and the large amount of recoil can lead to a much lower firerate. Pretty much every primary weapon would beat it in most properties, and end up making it, once again, just a sidearm. There's a reason why it's not a super common weapon in the real world. It has pros and cons, it's not perfect.
Why have an M45 and an M1911? Why two antimaterial rifles? Why two AKs? There are many guns that don't NEED to be there. It's nice to have variety, especially when variety in selection comes with different pros and cons to toy around with.
You agree that they need to add more content to keep the game fresh, and so far we can conclude that a Desert Eagle not only fits the setting, but can easily fit the gameplay too. It seems that you just do not like the idea because you don't like the Desert Eagle. It's just a matter of preference.
What's wrong with the M82A1 CQ? It's not a meme gun lol
Well my point is is a ridiculously huge, powerful gun. The Desert Eagle isn't even as powerful as this thing, so why are we drawing a distinction with the Deagle?
It's called an AMR, they're used to shoot through hard cover and armored vehicles, they're very usefull in combat situations... Unlike the Deagle, the Deagle is horrible at everything, it only has its caliber going for it... And maybe the visuals, it looks sexy lol ;D
Nice story.
Ok fair enough, it can probably be balanced.
But you don't have a single argument how the gun fits in Sandstorm with the factions we have. Although fictional, it's pretty clear what type of conflict and which type of factions are portrayed in this game.
Just because we have the M45, M1911, AMR's and AK's (which should pretty clear why these are all in the game. hah) it means we should have the Deagle aswell? lol.
lol
