and many out there also keep on running servers too. Such as [57th]Squadron, =TAC=, =EBS= , <<AD>>, and many more.
So unless they decide to prevent us from running servers, the game won't die any time soon.
I mean, even Insurgency 2014 is still alive in the first place.
So there's no real reason to worry 'bout servers.
All in all things are not going to change much.
I'm totally clueless!
I swear ppl just read the headline and make assumptions lol
I have swapped from a Ethernet to my 4G hotspot, if my FTTN (Ethernet) went to poo (5% to 40% packetloss) I would swap to 4G & get 60 ping with 0% packet loss, now it's just 200+ ping for both of them.
Idk if this has been happening to other Australian players but I did see two in the server I was in, one from Perth & the other from QLD with 60 ping while I 200+ & I'm from Perth.
Sandstorm doesn't. So if main servers will be turned off, you wouldn't be able to run the game anymore.
Spearin and Co. should make a small kickstarter with some pledgegoals in the direction of IS2 on UE5 or Source. Modern era, typical hotspots around the globe, same mechanics, bit more realistic.
My guess is, it might work. Difficult to trust anyone in the industry anymore, but the original devs and some of the new who were still very dedicated and interested, could just dump cosmetic and hillbilly system and make a gritty core Insurgency 4.
Think I'm not way off that at least 20k players would throw in $30 for a techdemo.
With 600k, you can run a studio on mid-energy for a nice juicy EA and start to haul in additional funds from the crowd only.
Still very convinced it would work.
I would even Volunteer as a designer for them if that would be an option.
UE5 is awesome for next gen hardware.
B-17 FF's manual was basically the plane's manual from what I remember. So many pages and very overwhelming to a youngster who thought being good at Comanche was hardcore.
Maybe not IS2, but I bet it'll be a bit more realistic.
But if the server is not up anymore, I think everyone who play community server might need to enter server manually using IP, and there will be no level system, maybe anti-cheat also will be gone.
Personally I disable the anti-cheat as I usually play PVE. Level system shouldn't be a problem because it is nearly useless beside it can indicated that player know how to play the game or not in some degree.
