The first game was much better, they didn't need to make a 2nd one so quickly.

Technically it's the 3rd installment, first one was the mod which was the sh!t, the standalone source one I still play. I think a new one was due for sure but not the way they rushed it out, if you remember it was a cluster fk and they even put out an apology for rushing it. I think a new one should be made but not with EU3, they should wait for CS2 to come out and use that engine.

uhh its not one off payment, they make money from DLCs too and continue making money from new players

Technically they had the two year dlc programme which run out and imo that's it. No more full updates, probably some light bug fixes if we are luckyis my best bet.

It is one off payment because dlcs are all optional and new players know what they are signing up for - you can view community hub, player count and the reviews before you buy into it. With that mindset they should keep updating every online FPS game forever just because you can still buy it.

I agree. I have roundabout 5000 hours in this game, modding included. Never bores me.
For me it's more about the teamplay than any other stuff. I mostly play with one weaponconfig and would be totally fine with 5 maps and 5 weapons if only some additional mechanics would enhance the gameplay (e.g. more realism, better bots)

Guess it's a lot different for many others though.
One reason why ISMC has been so successful.

5000 hours in this game ? You seriously spent all this time in this clearly dead game ? As in dead, I mean its soul is gone. Why play this when you have MW2 with pretty much the same aesthetic. Seek a psychologist or a priest my friend, I am dead serious.

if the game is good, then yea you should, dying light 1 still getting updates for example.

I think those came after the most devs left (those who originally developed sandstorm) knows pretty much nothing about sandstorm's coding and that's why more and more bugs and glitches (even fixed ones in the past) shows up.

Hit the nail on the head there. Once Mikey and the original devs left I had no more interest in this game. Game is nothing but a joke now, completely different to how it should be or how the original developers envisioned it.
