in single player you spawn with a bot team and you can only play the Checkpoint mode (a PVE mode). Your team will respawn after being wiped out, so IIRC the only way you can lose is by losing a capture point during defense phase. You will also personally respawn immediately if you were killed.
That's what I remember from my very few experience of single player.
depending on you Game.ini settings
You can actually play any game mode and any map with bots, all you have to do is enable admin mode in the settings
Doesn't the AI bot respawn take away your team's waves, meaning that they get killed for being bots and then you can't make one mistake or you have to start the map over?
They also approach/appear from seemingly-random directions on each playthrough, rather than other games where they stick to predictable designated paths and form conga-lines.
The AI loudly make their presence known. Which is unrealistic and comedic, but makes them more balanced to fight against in a hardcore, low-TTK shooter.
They're generally not TOO accurate or aware of your exact position either, which can easily make or break the experience.
As mentioned you can tweak their numbers and difficulty via config files, or use AI mods if you're that keen.
It's best with friends in COOP form of course, but I occasionally find myself sucked into a long singleplayer session as well.
hahaha isn't that what extremists are in real life?
