Improving graphics quality leads to more stable FPS!??
My system just made the cut for this game featuring an i5-6400 CPU, GeForce 960GTX(2GB Vram version) and 16GB of ram.

I started running the game on low/med settings with 1080p res and found my FPS when from 110 in certain situations and then to 70 in others. This Drastic increase and drop was not desirable. Tried Limiting the FPS Cap and while in theory My FPS was more stable visually I it did not seem so.

For the hell of it I selected the High video Quality preset and and loaded up a map. First of I found the game more visually pleasing and noticed my FPS was now around 60 right off the bat. Since I increased my visual settings my FPS did not really go pass say 65 but what surprised me was that it It also barley dropped below 60! The Range was like 55-60FPS, which was a much more desirable and stable FPS without having to manual set a limit or anything.

Not only is the quality visually better now but also the performance more stable! Crazy stuff.

My PC sounds like it's fighting for it's life because of the fans getting so loud but I think Im going to keep this set up in my settings.

Anyone else experience something like this especially when many people told me the not the play the game with a GTX 960 2GB ?

Why not? 60FPS with High settings at 1080 is considered unplayable to you ?

I agree, Ideally I would want to upgrade the whole computer and not just one component because My CPU isn't the greatest at this point either. But I just dont got the money for it right now. Gotta work with what I got for now.

It's because more of the stress goes to the CPU if you use lower graphic settings. It seems your settings are a good balance for the CPU and GPU stability.

Even though my PC sounds like an airplane when I play I guess you are right and the FPS doesnt lie. I just herd so many people saying I can't run the game with this card and well, I guess its all relative to what they mean buy running the game Ive come to understand.

LOL, it's more like increase graphics lead a lower but more stable FPS in my case with less fluctuations in ranges. Going from 54 to 62 is no where as bad as going from 90 to 52 fps. I even ran both Steams FPS counter and Sandstorms FPS counter and both match.

If what you see on screen is good enough for you, I wouldn't upgrade either. Yes it might be old but if it doesn't bother the user then let it be.

Also yes I agree with the comment above mine.
