Epic Games Popup?

I haven't played in a long time, just getting back into it and I keep getting an Epic Games popup everytime I launch. Anyway to disable this?

I played yesterday and my game started to stutter, i minimized and noticed 2 windows had been open in my internet browser, both the same page to do with steam and epic games link. I think its very odd to have a game be popping up web browsers especially since from what i saw there was nothing to do with epic games and steam link anywhere in game, for them to have coding in the game to randomly open up web browsers? seems like malware virus type stuff

It's an Epic Games title now which requires the use of the Epic Games friend system in-game. It's not a malware but simply just requiring you to link your Steam and Epic Games account even if you do NOT have Epic Games launcher installed.

It's a one and done situation. You link and it will never pop-up ever again

I have over 300 hours in this game and was thinking of reinstalling to check out the new content. I do not have an Epic Games account nor will I ever. I will refrain from reinstalling until this popup issue is addressed.

I removed the link between epic and steam and got no problem since

Nevermind got the steam deck and even though my steam and my epic games account (that is not present at all on my machine) are not linked, I now get the pop-up again, and honestly I am not keen to re-link and de-link again or get tencent ridden epic games launcher.

Maybe the fact that I play Rocket League. being a mainly epic game now interfere with this idk

Oddly i haven't had this issue in a long time but now that i installed Rocket League i started to get the popup every time i start the game, it's annoying as ♥♥♥♥. It could be that but i'm not sure.

This crap has been happening to me since 2021. I have gotten no reply from the devs, and the suggestions people have made here are no solution to the issue. I even got rid of my Epic account (at first not even knowing I had one), and have no idea why this crap keeps happening. I'll be right in the middle of a firefight in-game and the browser opens, minimizing my game, and I easily get killed. And as long as I keep playing the game, even duplicate browser windows will open about 30+ minutes later. It doesn't matter if I close the initial window or not. I swear, these game devs are selling out and really screwing their playerbase.

Why is there still no solution to this issue TWO YEARS after it first occurred? This is a MAJOR issue for our gameplay experience.
