Yes but it makes the guns feel significantly more unique and the attachment system is amazing. This game would greatly benefit from making the gunplay and related systems feel better as well as adding more unique and interesting game modes. They all feel like " go there and stand on that point". At least Ambush adds a little flavor. It would be awesome to play 6 v 6 modes again and stuff like bomb defusal, attack and defend as well as a mode with more battlefield style vehicle use.

It's essentially the same game, just with more options for customization and attachments, it makes the weapons feel more like they have their owns unique roles, looks or uses, which makes the gunplay and weapon selection feel less "samey"

Could be the attachments and the guns.
Its mostly just cosmetic changes, it builds off the base game and the mechanics within, hell even the 15 different grips you can choose from dont do anything to your gun, just cosmetic. Look at this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2_J2FarCfE) basically breaks down the entire mod and how its mostly just addons

That's the point though. Why did the developers leave so many aspects barebones that modders for a game that doesn't even have mod tools can improve upon? Even the maps are unique.

True, In the grand scheme of things yes they are a bit slow on content and updates, but I do see your point the cosmetic additions would make sense to add in that portion but the perks such as special weapons training and modified movement need to be dialed back thats where it begins to start looking like COD movement.

However if insurgency wants to stay relevant they need to do more than add cosmetics which they can easily do, like for example if night modes were incorporated into the official play lists where gamma couldn't be altered that'd draw in a lot of players, or other game modes, etc.

Wdym insurgency already kinda plays like CoD. No real inertia and recoil is a joke lol. Peeker's advantage so strong people don't even lean they just run around corner and insta kill you with 200 ping while you hold an angle.

I mean the additions in ISMC aren't just cosmetic. They change the gunfeel and provide unique optics that FEEL better. They also change the point firing to make it actually useful and reliable.

That's the thing, it's not balanced lol. ISMC PVP is just people camping with high powered optics, or broken no recoil loadouts.

It's really only a bandage. It doesn't actually "fix" any of the underlying problems, all it does is crank up player health (at least in PVE, I haven't played PVP) so you don't get one-tapped as soon as you walk around a corner and gives you a bunch of guns with 0 recoil on full automatic.
It's still fun as hell don't get me wrong but don't act like it's the tactical be all end all of Sandstorm because it's not.

Only took me 1 match and ISMC 6 guns to uninstall ismc.
LunaStellae Jan 12, 2022 @ 12:56am
because it isn't. ISMC is just content pack with new guns and skins.
