EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0xffffffff
Is anyone else have the same issue as me? The game randomly crash with this error:

It started a week ago and its comletly random. Sometimes after a half hour and sometimes 1-2 hour. It is a bug fron the latest upgrade or i need to check my system?

I tried going to the file location and then running compatibility check on the anti cheat software. it went down to windows 8 and ran a couple games online with no issues. This might be a temporary fix but it works so far. hope this helps.
windows 10, I7 8700k, 32gbs Ram, Gigabyte 1080ti 11gb.
update: once you run a compatibility check on the anti cheat software in the location folder you must open the game from the anti cheat software and not from the steam page. I ran it again and it works so far no issues yet.

I've tried that and the crashes persisted. The problem is this can't be tested / replicated reliably. You tweak some settings, launch the game, play a round or two and no problems. Then the next couple of times you give it a go you might get a crash on start or mid-game, totally random.

I am telling you guys its GPU related....

There is a prgram called DDU available at guru3d to completly and throughly remove your gpu drivers and do a clean install... much more cleaner then if you use your GPus software...

It supossidly helps some people but it didnt help me...

Thanks for the info so far - forgive me if this is a stupid question (I'm old and this not my wheelhouse) but how would it be my GPU if I can play offline without crashing ever, but as soon as I tell steam go online I get same error that we are discussing? - thanks

Your issue seems to be similar to mine in symptoms, but not in cause. Sometimes I get crashes with access violation at 0xffffffff at startup, as soon as the intro movies clear. I dunno how it manifests for the rest of the folks here...

So you just set EAC exe to Windows 8?
once you do that you need to open the game via the anti cheat software where the compatibility check was done in the game folder. or just try opening the game without using the steam interface.

Dissagree.... I have all 3... not linked.... I NEVER got a pop up to link accounts and still dont
I get the anticheat timeout error ever since the last patch. Tried linking epic, unlinking epic. Deleting the easy anti cheat folder in the insurgency install allows me to play a match, sometimes 2 online before I get the gamebreaking error. Offline I can play with zero issues. I created a support ticket about 6 weeks ago and got one message that suggested that the issue was related to epic integration with steam and sandstorm. I'm hoping that the upcoming patch fixes this. I never did get popups as others did, perhaps because of the browser that I use (Firefox).

I use chrome, but have no epic acount. I don't see any popups ether. Just game crash at startup. :x

welp. ASUS mobos are garbage so I have not been able to diagnose a hardware issue yet.

It would be sus if we are all having issues with our graphics cards. But I cannot rule it out as I am running old hardware

I'm inclined to say it's not my GTX 1080 since that one is less than 5 yrs old

It may be time for me to change these tho:
Intel i5-4690
ASUS Z97
32 gb of DDR3

PS4 in 2015 ... $500
Xbox one in 2015 ... <$500
online subscription >$60/year ($300/5yr for me)
the ability to play with real life friends = priceless

I am fairly confident I would squeeze 10 years out of those ... and I guess if you add the subscription cost ... damn the cost is about the same ... I started out to make a point that console gaming is cheaper but nvm

brb I need to go make some $ ... gaming is not for the frugal
