Why is the community so toxic?
not everywhere but occasionally i would see some sort of weird triggering/toxic stuff both here and in the game itself
Écrit par I Love Tomboys:
Bullied and Socially awkward people is one reason. Since they are sitting behind a PC and their faces can't be shown, it's easy for them to insult you. You have to know that not all people that you meet in the internet are always normal and some come from troubled pasts and etc.

Toxicity isn't uncommon and by god it isn't rare at all, it's a common thing within Online games, FPS or not. However, some individuals are just toxic for the fun of it and just want to watch everything go haywire.

Hope this helps,
Fetcher

insurgency's community was much more mature in the past.

this is what happens when you want to appeal to casual crowds.

Almost feels like a fever dream of Etopia. Reminds me of that old man from the metro who's in the red's territory who just wants simple art, not ♥♥♥♥ rebounds.

Add in mob mentality culture wars agitation and you get all the fun of the fair.

usually when a game gets cheap u ghet cheap people with several accounts. this game is being sold by third parties for 10 euros so thats why we have a boost of players and reviews.

now all we miss now is mass cheating like in battlefield v.

I may generalize but the russian servers are most chill. when i go on european or us servers, its usually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I:S best depicts the sudden and chaotic lethality of a 'modern' combat zone within a fictional foreign interest occupied failed state; focusing on pitting small teams against equally lethal opfor in an asymmetric conflict.

Assuming agency in I:S should exclude all of us from the want, let alone the demand, for protection against hurtful comments or 'toxicity.'

No one may claim exemption from hurt while actively participating in a medium depicting the hardships of conflict.

If you didn't feel uncomfortable or question human nature while playing I:S until a stranger said something hurtful, then you've missed the point.

'No one may claim exemption from hurt while actively participating in a medium depicting the hardships of conflict'

This is a game with respawn waves where people run about shouting 'Allahu Ackbar' whilst lobbing molotovs about and having disco parties on technical vehicles trying to get it to flip over and fly up into the air. Also, if we were instead participating in an educational, historical re-enactment of frankly any conflict, reflecting upon the hardships of those that served doesn't mean we have to open up to a downward vortex of uncivilised behaviour toward each other.

Surely the point of questioning human behaviour when reflecting upon conflict is to find ways to avoid unnecessary, destructive conflict in the future so that those who sacrificed everything didn't do so in vain...not so we can act like edgelords in a secondary school playground.

With all due respect, you've used very refined and evocative writing to lead the reader down the garden path into feeling guilty for playing an FPS shooter with it's own moderating rules but not being happy to sit and listen to racist, homophobic and conspiracy theory rants or be harassed and griefed in game for being a 'n-word', 'degenerate' or whatever else.

just some hotty here and a nice song

Every time I have tried to go over to PVP servers its all just people talking crap at each other and its so lame. Its why I basically only play co-op in this game. The co-op community for this and the previous game has always been immensely more civil and enjoyable to spend time with.
