Without a suppressor, the rest of the pack will instantly duck for cover when they hear the first gunshot from an unsupressed rifle. In terms of TTK or body damage, the suppressor seems to have no difference unlike other tactical shooter games.
For CQB situations, a suppressed weapon won't alert enemy AI hiding in other rooms to your presence but seems to make the overall weapon longer, making handling it difficult in really tight corners and cramped stairwells.
That's my personal observation for the pre Nov 8th update; I haven't tried suppressed weapons since then. Hope this helps. :-)
Supressors are basically a barrel extension - they don't take away from anything.
I only play against bots, that's my only reason to play insurgency in fact...
A ♥♥♥♥ ton of people play against bots, in fact the amount of people playing against bots is usually higher when i go to join a game. Playing both is fun, really hard bots are good for practice plus you get more points to kit up so you can get extra ♥♥♥♥ including drum mags, which btw why arent drum mags available in regular mp?
