Game worked for about 100 hours without any problems. Now I cant play in a group with friends anymore...

you can try the steps below, mind you it's copy pasted from threads i replied to earlier so couldn't bother reformatting it.


ok i know you probably tried these suggestions, but:

- verify your game in steam.
right click Insurgency: Sandstorm -> properties -> local files -> verify game files

- manually reinstall easy anti cheat
right click Insurgency: Sandstorm -> properties -> local files -> browse local files -> EasyAntiCheat folder -> EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe

if that didnt work try this:

thanks for trying the previous steps i suggested. you can try run the game as admin or try deleting your user ini file.

I'm no tech support so don't know what is causing the crashes but could be a corrupt user setting file.

path may be a bit different but:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient should have a GameUserSettings.ini delete that one and try again. dont worry you can either make a copy of the file or not but the game will make a new one for you when it's deleted.

Hi there. This is a somewhat common issue, from what i've seen it usually relates to Anti-Cheat and/or seurity software.

Basically, some security software on you computer is preventing Easy Anti-Cheat from running. Without EAC, the game will not be allowed to run.

A Dev response to an older Reddit post with the same error code: "This specific error code refers to EAC service/executable being blocked (typically by security software, malware, etc.)", shared by Moderator AkH prevent on steam forums (Marked as the answer)

You can go through your system's security software and disable stuff like firewalls, antivirus or VPNs until it works. If your issue is Anti-Virus, which it most likely is, you can add the Easy Anti-Cheat to the list of exceptions, meaning your AV will look past it and allow it to run regardless. I had the same problem due to Windows Defender, which comes pre-installed on Windows OS.

WINDOWS FIREWALL

For any problem in multiplayer mode or with Easy Anti-Cheat, please check that the game has been added in Windows Firewall.
Otherwise, to add the game in Windows Firewall:

1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Settings.
2. Click Network & Internet.
3. Click Windows Firewall > Allow an app through firewall.
4. Click Change settings button.
5. Click Allow another app... button.
6. Click Browse... button.
7. Browse to Steam > steamapps > common > sandstorm.
8. Select InsurgencyEAC.exe application and click Open.
9. Click Network types... button, check Private and Public then click OK.
10. Click Add button.
11. Click Allow another app... button.
12. Click Browse... button.
13. Browse to Steam > steamapps > common > sandstorm > Insurgency > Binaries > Win64.
14. Select InsurgencyClient-Win64-Shipping.exe application and click Open.
15. Click Network types... button, check Private and Public then click OK.
16. Click Add button then OK.


HOW TO REPAIR EASY ANTI-CHEAT (EAC)

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on Insurgency: Sandstorm > Properties.
3. Click the LOCAL FILES tab and click on the BROWSE LOCAL FILES button.
4. Open the EasyAntiCheat folder and run the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe application.
5. Select Insurgency: Sandstorm and click on the Repair Service button.
