And how does it fit the theme? I rather have some old large caliber hunting shotgun of some sort, some elephant gun.
Desert-Eagle is pretty cool.
Because everyone has double barrel shotguns, and the middle east has all sort of antique weaponry being jury rigged to use. Security probably found some and decided to pack em along. It definitely fits with the Insurgents using anything they can get.
I admit dEagle is cool, but it doesn't fit to the theme. This is not CSGO lol
Sure everyone can get hands on a double, in pretty much every country on the world.
However, Insurgents would most likely not use shotguns at all, unless the stuff they find with the Police. It's a lot easier to get hands on an AK of some sort in the middle east as well as all kinds of 9 mm pistols. I mean, if you would be in a war zone and your gun is the only thing that can enhance your survival chances, would you pick a double? Or any type of shotgun?
I certainly wouldn't and in fact would rather run away than relying on a shotgun in a war zone where I am facing enemies with assault rifles and such.
AK or G3A3 would be my ways to go, nothing else.
I am not against them adding a double, I just dont see the benefit of it, unless it gets dragon breath rounds or some other cool feature, but again, I am not against it, I just don't find it too fitting as Insurgents barely use it, only thing I kind of disagree with.
I can only give the same response as I gave to Imperial.
Theatre/theme wise it is not fitting. A double is probably more likely to be seen than a desert eagle, even because of the ammunition.
However, I think that if we would only assume what would not be used in some fictional conflict and would try to stick to some sort of reality, we should only be able to play AK,G3 and M16 on insurgent side, as a side arm maybe glock and makarov and for security side only be able to play M4, M16, AK47, G36 and as a side arm the Glock or M9.
Because THIS is what you would find in a middle eastern conflict with the AK being pretty popular on both sides as even PMCs in the middle east really like to use any type of AK.
All the other weapons are a rarity in such conflicts.
But its a game and I like that they have a choice, otherwise it would be boring as hell.
I mean come on, how likely is it that some let's say ISIS guys or Syrian Insurgents end up using the AS VAL or some of the chinese weapons and even PMCs using 50. cal sniper rifles or large caliber side arms is just mainly bogus.
I think they should rather allow diversity for guns by allowing us to customize them in a realistic manner, i.e exchanging an AKs wood grip or shoulder with an other type of material, wrapping some tape around it or what not. Small realistic things.
Juba in Iraq for example used an AK and shortened it himself so it can fit everywhere and he can act as an insurgent sniper and disappearing in the masses after.
Guns in this game need more identity, unique character and not just the usual. But I guess this is not going to happen and I am not going to buy skin DLCs or some garbage anyway.
