If you're playing offline, with the local mode, you'll have bots in your team. But you can't play online with bots on your side.
There you can config a lot of stuff, exactly to your liking.
AI has some issues atm (on nighttime maps), but with some help from mods you can build a nice cosy setup for coop sessions. Feel free to ask, if you like to, server-community is quite helpful.

t has exactly what you desire ,you can play on large maps with bots and vehicles ,any number your rig can handle...for me thats about 50 vs 50 . its very battlefield 2 like and with mods you literally can recreate any FPS game you ever played...INCLUDING THIS POS GAME if your so inclined.
