[bug] how to rebind console tilde/backtick (`) ???

i'm lvl 680, 2k+ hours since beta, favorite game...

this "bug" is new, and it's getting me killed when i accidently press it (`) because grabs the keyboard.

maybe if it was just a on/off toggle i could learn to live with it.

but instead it cycles into ANOTHER locked state... infuriating.

why can't i just clear or rebind it?

it's not in "settings -> bindings".

and if i assign ` to a different action, it still brings up the console, and doesn't do what i bound ` to do. [BUG]

there are many reasons to make ` rebindable (accessibility, user preference, etc)...

...but if you're going to "hard code" it into the game, at least don't put it right next to the default key for PRIMARY WEAPON.

see how insane that is?

i know this comes traditionally from counter-strike... but can we at least have the freedom to rebind it (like they do)?

would anyone else like the ability to clear or rebind the tilde ` key? anyone else been killed by it?

yeah i just noticed this myself, makes the game unplayable that is the key i have used for queue up on the mic for the past 20 years, every game has a bind option for it and if it drops the console by default they allow it to be bound to another key, this is ridiculous imo

This key is in a prime location on the keyboard for fps games...

Let us rebind it please.

this thread seems old but found below info for changing binding for console

STEP 1 :
go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient

​STEP 2 :
open Input.ini with notepad and paste this in the file

[/script/engine.inputsettings]
ConsoleKey=F10
