How to get a private co-op game started?

All my friends are in a squad ( In the main menu) and were invited and joined and I clicked start local play and only I was thrown into a game. Everybody else was stuck in the main menu.

You need a dedicated server if you want your own coop private game. Otherwise, you all need to join an empty community coop server.

yeah, you can just join community server cause it's very rarely people join them, you can easily play few hours without someone joining, that's what we did. And if someone do join, just kick them.
