Its mental. I was actually thinking about starting a thread with suggestions on adding slightly more gun shot wound effects to characters as well as more blood decals to the walls, floors and clothes as well as better and more varieties of blood pools and dirt on clothes would of been cool. I was thinking this would all add to the grit and brutality of the game.

Then i come here and find that they had ALL of that in the game anyway but they took 90% of it out.

I really hope we get it all back. I dont see why it cant be a toggle option in the menu along with HD textures.

Lets keep this thread going and hope they sort it out

I totally agree with you. They had some awesome stuff in this game before it was downgraded to hell.

Yeah, as someone who has been playing since beta the gore effects changes really snuck up on me.

The engine is capable of doing all of these things, and doing them well. But every time a downgrade is mentioned, the devs regurgitate the same "but we got an email from this guy once, who said he wanted optimization..." line.

I've been playing since beta, NWI. My frame rates haven't dipped below 140 in-game, but you've taken out these features from my game as well as everyone else's.

It shouldn't be this controversial an issue for people to want to enjoy your work fully.

maybe this is something they can consider during operation cleansweep. im sure it doesnt need that much time to implement it in the settings.

something like:

classic vs performance mode
-hd textures on/off
-old blood textures on/off
-old gore animations on/off
-old muzzleflashs on/off
-moving vests in spectator mode on/off

I don't know why we can't just have a separate texture pack as a free dlc. Consoles and toasters still get to play the game and people wishing to look at post 2010-2015 era textures can do so.

im sure that the nwi devs loves their game, its their baby (and a nice one btw). even with many changes that made the community disappointed, they showed that they are open for suggestions and critic. nwi learned a lot in the last 18 month about communication with their customers.

if enough people keep asking about the possibility to bring back some great stuff that was downgraded lately they will give us response and they will look into it.

we should not forget that these guys had hell of ride with their performance issuses, its understandable that they keep their focus for now.
