What do you guys think about claymore mines and tripwires
Claymore or some other type of mines would be nice. Tripwires IED for Insurgents!

Update: With class limts. Demolition, for instance - 1-2 claymores or IED's max. Just like how we limit RPG's etc to keep things more balanced and not like a COD noobtube fest for instance. Nobody here wants that, I hope. I digress, these will not be laser based. These will be wired like in real life. Also, very visible. (Think like BF1's tripwires, although they were old fashioned style basically a molotov with a wire trigger. Very easy to spot tbh if you actually look where you are going.)

I've already replied one or two times on this topic and I think it can add to a good experience if balanced right, but for beginners it can also lead to more frustration. Surviving is already pretty hard if you're new to the game/genre since already quite unforgiving, by adding tripwires you add even more factors to which one can die/has to pay attention to, while still learning the maps etc.

If you allow 4+ mines per faction, I would agree on that (if spammy or so).

However, the thread contains suggestion to heavily limit it (just 1 role + 1-2 mines max. per player). At the same, they cost a lot, meaning the person who want to use mine cannot equip rocket launcher, nade launcher, nades, weapon equipment and co <--- This leads to him not doing save kills by that + his mine will not replace this outcome.

If you follow this logic, adding mines as special and expensive equipment will lead to LESS frustration for newcomers because they die less due to the other named equipment.

These things + more has been summed up in the first pages of the thread allready. So far theres no problem left that was not getting an answer (solutions addressed)...

Good points, dying to rpgs and 40mms is probably more frustrating and cheap than dying to mines (for players of any level). I like these balancing ideas.
Exactly. You simply limit it like anything else so its balanced and not ridiculous.
1-2 for demo class

Good idea

For Security : Claymore cost 4 or 5 and Betty mine(jumping mine) cost 3
For INS : IED tripewire cost 4 or 5 and jumping mine or grenade tripwire (smaller rope) cost 3

The Breacher can spot, put mine and disarm them
The demo can only disarm

Its fine as long as everyone can disarm them or it would be broken.

Can you disarm vehicle mines? In the case of tripwires, blowing them up with a nade or something would be doable and less time consuming than trying to disarm while someone covers you but also cool to have both
