Can you play Coop and PvP with friends only?

How do I play coop with just one friend for example? Is there a way to create this custom setting? In the original Insurgency this was possible from what I gather.

Not sure to give you an exact answer. But there's lots of empty community servers you can join with friends. and i mean both coop and pvp servers.

you cant, only if you are able to setup a own private dedicated server.

What I think you're looking for is to host a game from within the client and play with friends. If that's what you want then no, sandstorm does not have any facility of hosting sessions from the client.
You will need to set up or rent a dedicated server.

Thats what EVERYBODY want, but the answer is no. Hosting sessions from the client highly requested but nope, not possible.
