Joining friends game

Hey guys,
is there a way to join a game of steam friends which are already in a game?
Everytime i try to join with right click -> "join game" the join window is popping up for 1sec, disappearing and then nothing happens. This is very unsatisfying, because they have to leave the round, invite me into their party and then search for the next game together.
When I try to join via the server IP Adress I am continuous asked for a password (which shouldn be asked since there is no password) then there is an error message..
Do some of you have the same issues?
May some of you know a way to join friends games?

The way the group I play with do it is, wait until the round they play is done. Get them to send me an invite, join and then the group leader begins the search which pulls us in with them.

I’ve got the same issue. I usually just join a server and tell the people I’m playing with which one it is, which works.

Wish the game would take your whole party into the server the leader joins though.

Same here, not possible to join a friend :/ It was possible in previous Insurgency game.

Maybe create a squad? (don't remember if that's the right name they gave it)...

you can join a friends game if its on the non official servers,just click on 'view game info' on your friends name in steam friends list and copy the i.p and paste it into the server browser

It would be awesome if you could join official servers, too. Most games are on those.
