Then remove the contents of your app data folder found in “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient”.

I did it earlier for the first time and omfg my fps and overall performance of the game stepped up ALOT!! Everything looks sooooo polished and runs even smoother.

Just do it. Then yeh know its out the way. Or, that option has been executed. Make a note of it even in case yeh forget for whatever reason?

Been there, done that. Still got missing guns and bodies, no scope but 2x iron sights, sound dropping in and out, bots stuck in the roof.

Didn't have any problems before the update.

Still playing the game for the laughs. :)

Use Revo Uninstaller on advanced mode and remove all trace files and trace registry entries. Game works alot better after that. A true clean install.

Doesn't fix the rampant bugs within the engine itself as mentioned in the post above me or the AI spawning in the ceilings, invisible AI, glitchy jumpy AI slipping through floors and speed hacking through and around walls etc. Also after about 20 mins all the performance bugs come right back. (inb4 "get a better rig") My rig is top of the line. The game is an Alpha stage heap at this point. My regret in buying this game twice is insurmountable. I really wanted to give NWI my money, now they've got it and I'm kicking myself in the ass for falling for more empty promises and nostalgic feels

Apparently it only helps players that participated in Beta, and not have deleted the ini yet. Not everyone.

I delete the ini files and then verify the integrity of the game on steam settings and is working fine.

I've created a poll regarding performance and your Windows version (7 or 10). The thread is under the performance section of the steam forums: Steam Forum Thread. The poll itself is here: Poll Concerning Performance After Patch + Windows Version[linkto.run]. I urge everyone to take it so we can give the devs some help with why things are worse for some and better for others.

As of now, 24-hours later, the results show the following after the recent patch:


Windows 10:

- 34 out of 50 (68%) say it runs WORSE
- 10 out of 50 (20% say it runs BETTER
- 6 out of 50 (12%) say it runs ABOUT THE SAME

Windows 7:

- 1 out of 8 (12.5%) say it runs WORSE
- 2 out of 8 (25% say it runs BETTER
- 5 out of 8 (62.5%) say it runs ABOUT THE SAME


Not a large dataset so far, but there is a clear/almost exact INVERSE relationship going on here. I think I might be onto something with Windows 10 being screwed over in this patch. Hopefully we can get more people voting.

Bugs cant be fixed if you delete the config folder. The devs have reduced the instance of invisible guns/hands/cosmetics. They are still working on fixing those.

After new patch fps drop from 60 to 30, I tried to delete folder and it runs better, 60 fps again but still I feel it is not smooth. I have all low - med on i7 3770, 12GB RAM, GTX 1070. I had same fps on same setting with RX 470 4GB after my PC upgrade. This game need more optimalization patches.

Thanks for the reminder, I thought my game was running fine since the update, however doing the localappdata has increased my frames from 115 to 130 fps and the game is so much more polished
