Never throw the smoke at yourself, always put it towards the enemy.
Inherently, you have the upperhand if you are in position while defending. Giving the enemy anything that allows them to close the distance is reducing your advantage and bringing them closer to even footing.
Well damn, im the kind of defender that lays prone behind some sandbags and shoots the attackers in the back when i let them in to the capzone even if the best defence would be to kill the enemy before they reach the capzone
if your a mind reader yes and determine that they havent equipped a gas mask, your point is noobish anyhow that is not the way this game is made to be played
any situation I seriously think your stretching it there, no its to be used as I said not you
My emphasis is on getting people to use it right because I think that the HOW is a much bigger problem than the WHEN.
Currently I pretty much hate smoke in INS because of the way ppl generally use it.
- As long as you put the smoke at or towards the enemy, you're blocking their view without very much affecting your own. So this is good.
- Furthermore if you put smoke at the enemy, they will be easy to spot when they attempt to run through that smoke. (when you get out of the smoke, the smoke behind you will actually make you easy to see)
- Smoke doesn't stop bullets. This is especially true for all the machinegunners out there. So again, don't put the smoke at yourself, put it at the enemy!
- Smoke also doesn't stop explosives *doh* but makes it harder to evade or get cover from them
Also, you want to smoke the enemy. So they can't see. Not throw smoke, before the objective, Run though the smoke, exit smoke......just before the entrenched enemy position...... Not being able to see the enemy until kissing distance isn't what you want.
