What does nwi mean with this?
“This is due to past experience from Insurgency Source where it was found that night maps could feel frustrating in PvP content.“

???

Anyone from ins2014 who actually felt like this? Personally I no clue what they’re saying, I think it was awesome! Like it had an extra intense atmosphere and really hoped it came to pvp in Sandstorm aswell.

Now they have stated it will come to pvp (and pve) in the summer update, but not on official servers. I think that's a shame and honestly also a waste of resources because there are rarely any populated pvp servers in the browser... (in europe atleast). Atleast have an extra permanent pvp playlist when this comes please!

That being said, we will definitely be doing some limited time playlists of various PvP modes with night maps, and all the various night devices you'd expect." -- Mikee

They think night maps encourage camping and therefor they will only make them for coop, potentionally in the form of event game modes for pvp

We played the hell out of the night maps in source, don't really know why they would do this because night maps would be a lot of fun in PVP. What a waste of resources.

To be fair there are more people playing COOP than PVP so its not exactly wasted resources, however that doesent mean i agree with their decision.

Their games have always been best in co-op I feel, so that's not surprising. They probably realise this too.

Numbers talk,to my knowlage the ratio is about 60-40 in favor of COOP.

Night maps in PvP were played about 5% of the time compared to maps during the day. This isn't to say they can't be fun, but that the majority of people never really voted for them or played on them.

In Sandstorm, night maps for PvP will be available on community servers, which should be much more populated as mod tools release publicly this Spring. Keep in mind the team can always introduce them in official modes later very easily if the demand is there.

I guess so, but at the same time it allows for more sneaky flanking etc.

Dunno where you get that statistic from, wouldn't be much higher probably but that doesn't really matter, people would still like the chance to play it if they implement it..

Hopefully the servers become more populated with mods yea. What could help is showing the official servers in the browser too, like ins2014. Then there is a reason to use the browser.

night pvp was just a mode where everyone turns their gamma all the way up.

I am personally fine with night coop only since I don't think a gamma hack fest should be an official permanent mode in the game

I wanna see Frenzy Night Mode as an option next to normal Frenzy.

Just sounds like they don't want to do any more work for a game that needs hella work still. I've played old insurgency and loved the night maps. didn't mind them at all.
