Agree with this Idea, rebinding your G502 special key to numpad key or something you want to by a Logitech program.
And set it in game after.
I Was having the same issues with the LGS software not loading the correct profile or button assignment for Sandstorm.
I saw this thread and turns out I had the wrong .exe file being tagged through LGS. The correct executible is sandstorm\insurgency\binaries\win64\insurgencyclient-win64-shipping.
The LGS software now responds correctly when Sandstorm starts up and you can program all 9 G keys. I can no longer blame my mouse mapping for shoddy performance !
