Insurgency Sandstorm Broke My PC

So, after installing Sandstorm, I launched it and immediately started customizing my character, I was having a strange issue with really bad screen tearing, eventually it cut to a pink screen with vertical lighter pink lines. nothing would work not even basic windows shortcuts. eventually my computer finally crashed and forced me into a boot loop, after some investigation I found out my bootres.dll was corrputed, after launching into safemode and running system file checker, it claimed it had found and replaced the corrupted file. unfortunately this was not the case. I opted to try safemode again and download a fresh bootres.dll from a dll archive webpage, to no avail, I still get thrown into a boot loop and sent to the troubleshooting screen.

I'm on Windows 10 1804 Build, I dont know what I expect from posting this on steam but I've exhausted all other options I know of other than a system restore. If anyone could give any advice it would be much appreciated

EDIT: I'm not really putting the blame on the game It's just an issue that happened while I was playing, probably a coincidence but still sucks mad ♥♥♥♥

It was probably a cosmic ray corrupting your disk drive. Can't really blame the game. Seriously though that kinda stuff does happen by chance too so there might not be much they can do to resolve it.

I doubt it's the game. Microsoft pulled one of the latest updates for this very reason.

Yeah I'm not really putting the blame on the devs or the game, it just sucks that it happened and ive exhausted a lot of solutions and am really just avoiding doing a system reset at this point because I've got a lot of data and dont have a win10 disk/usb

You can DL win 10 Iso or it will burn it to a usb for you, on another machine. You should have one to access the recovery console anyway.

I popped in my Win 8.1 disk and reinstalled that, not sure if my hdd is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cause pretty sure im running ♥♥♥♥ off of this cd but im not certian, appriciate the feedback tho man

lmao I tried installing my display drivers and after my restart I was stuck with a green screen, so needless to say my ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥'d, probably just gonna hold off and stick with my laptop/playstation till I do a rebuild, im overdue anyways

The windows files may be corrupted. Since you have nothing left to loose, try a reload, see if that allows you to install drivers. Windows can be stupid hinky sometimes.
