Switching between x2 scope and the magnifier
I love using the x2 scopes as they are a good scope for medium range encounters. However being a new gen game, I am disappointed that we still can't switch between the x2 scope and its magnifier.

If the devs happen to be reading I suggest adding a new animation that allows players to switch between the x2 magnifier and the x1 scope that accompanies it. Maybe you can make the scope worth higher in point value in order to balance it off? I think it would be really cool when using the x2 scope in cqc engagements which, often take place in Insurgency and then flip the magnifier back on to engage in medium to long ranges.

I've seen that in a few games, love it and it would be so useful!

I was also surprised to find that this wasn't a feature when it's the entire point of the hinged magnifier. Would be really nice to add. Perhaps add a new fixed magnification 2x scope that costs 2 points, and add variable zoom to the magnifier sights and increase its price to 3.

I think it could be cool, but from a gameplay balance perspective, it could also nullify any reason to use the 1x sights. So I can see why it's not been implemented.... yet

This is why I suggested increasing its price to 3 and adding a new fixed 2x sight at cost 2. The 1x sights would then still be useful because they are less expensive.

Also the 1x-2x sight would not be the same as a single 1x. It's further away and not sure how they would animate it but they could make it not as nice to use as a single use 1X but still better then a 2x only scope when it comes to CQC...

The magnifyer being flip to side would limit your peripheral vision by blocking the right of your screen, making the rds and holo viable options to remove loss of sight.

I really don't see why they're making sights cost anything at all when they don't have zoom.
For optics with a sight they should just be pricing them very high due to the utility.

What is retarded is on the M16/M4, a flip up sight costs anything at all.

Hell a M4 weighing more than the M16 doesn't make any sense.

Completely agree with this and I know for a fact that the devs that are so in-line with realistic weapons know that the EO tech Holo/mag combo is super easy to flip in/out to adapt to different ranges. This is quite frankly the only gripe I have with the game so far. I spent 30 mins looking through the key binds looking for the scope toggle key.

AMAZING game. If you can implement hybrid sights in the game before or after release, it would be wonderful. Not only with the 2X Holo / Red dot scopes, but with sights like the Elcan. It has iron sights built right into the top, and when heading into a building with that scope I feel extremely uncomfortable because I know I won't be able to put down accurate fire at close ranges unless it's point blank. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make hybrid sights a reality.

The 2x holo sight annoys the crap out of me because it looks like I should be able to flick that magnifier out of the way.

It'd be cool to see hybrid sights as an option (maybe even add something like the HAMR sight that has a scope on the bottom and a regular reflex sight on top), but I also wouldn't be surprised if the devs decide not to do it. They might feel it offers too much versatility.

No point in even having a hybrid sight if people can't switch between them. Would make more sense for it to be a single sight at the same magnification. At least that wouldn't be misleading.

yes, i was looking at the 2x red dot.. which is actually a red dot with a magnifier that has a hinge to tilt out of the way but I looked all over in settings and couldnt seem to find the key bind for actually having that option... which would be really cool.

Need to be able to do this for the G36K and the ISM scope. They have a 4x I think, with a 1x/no magnification red dot built in as well.

Well many other games have done without problem like BF4 and CoD. I don't see why Insurgency can't? I don't see this being an issue really..

Realistically 1x sights shouldn't block your vision anyway. If you ever look through red dots in real life, assuming you do it both eyes open as you should, it doesn't block your view. You can even use a red dot with the front scope cover still on, and still hit accurately.
Now to simulate this. Try reading this page, with your hand over one eye.
