1.Learn rifleman in and out becuase you always have that class no matter how populated the server
2. Less is more (going with 2 smokes and and iron sights can sometimes give better results)
3. rely on noone but yourself to watch flanks
4. learn the maps and use red zones to get behind players and then make a move

If you're completely new, it might be a good idea to pick the observer role and stick close to a commander. That way you can get used to the controls while having someone watch over you, as well as being useful just by being there.

Play play play. And learn THE Maps in and out is a huge advandage. I noticed that in ins2 after learning lets say ministry and learn how People often moves in THE Map gave me alot. They even thought i Was cheating sometimes because of My Map memory and enemy movements. I could feel in THE guts where they where heading next. A B or C i just Ran there and of course there Was the whole team lol.

As you’re just starting out, you’re going to die A LOT. Don’t let it bother you because everyone goes through that process.
Map knowledge is extremely important. Do your best to learn common camping spots (and the prefires for each) and the best flanking routes. Flanking always gives you an advantage.
When you are dead, watch the players on your team who are doing well. Learn how and where they move and see what angles they check first.
Find a weapon that fits your play style (the M4 and AK-74 are my go to, as they’re good for flanking and fighting at close quarters) besides a sniper rifle...DO NOT USE A BOLT ACTION RIFLE
Pro tip: in the current build, crouching basically eliminates recoil...so crouch before you shoot at range.
As for some game mode related advice:
Checkpoint -
Never engage the bots at long range for extended periods of time (especially if you’re still working on accuracy) because their aimbot WILL win. And if you see a bot with a white shirt and balaclava with a knife out, that’s a suicide bomber.
Push -
When attacking, use smoke and flanking routes to get close to the objective. Attack the point in large numbers to overwhelm the defenders (DONT PUSH ONE AT A TIME)
When defending, camp. Get a few kills then move to a new spot before the same people respawn.
Skirmish -
The fuel truck is the most important objective
Firefight -
Do not camp unless you’re on an objective. If you’re not on an objective, move towards an objective using flanking routes.

You’ll get better with time...there’s no real trick that’s going to make you way better overnight.

Lots of solo play and coop to learn maps. Explore various paths and buildings.

Use cover! Use cover!
Always go from cover to cover strategically!
Not necessarily slowly but efficiently.

You should be constantly aware of flanks and strategize movements and where to look.

If you shoot get ready to defend and move.

Check your angles and corners!

Experiment with every gun and start over after the next patch is released with gun balance changes.

Use shotguns with flechettes to help train and discipline your aiming skills.

Lots of hours...

Lol, maybe it should be a mandatory training where a commander follows you around and spams the tips a hundred times :p

Then after you die he yells; Dumbass! You didn't check your corners did you?? :D

Map knowledge is key. Flanking is good, and is most effective when you get behind an objective and enter it through the door that the enemy team uses. More than half the time, defenders will assume that no one made it around that far and won't be watching their door.

Also, find a gun in the rifleman kit for each team that you like and master that weapon before you play around with other classes too much, since that weapon wil ALWAYS be an option for you.

Finally, thrown C4/IEDs are your friend if you need to clear a room or destroy a cache around a corner that you know people are camping.

And, take armor.

Remember to regen your health at ammo crates, I believe you have to hold down F rather then just tap.

Yeah usually take heavy armor, but if you really need those 2 extra supply then light armor is also viable. Unlike the last game the light armor will actually take a bullet or two before you die.
