Why do the insurgents wear street clothes?
Kind of hard to take these guys seriously when I see them running around in bright flannel shirts and jeans like it's their day off from work.

Keep in mind, they are rebels. It's going to be unlikely that they're going to be wearing uniforms. Honestly, it's pretty realistic when you think about it.

actually first thing you would do after weapons is getting some military stuff to wear
because a camouflage smock is better than a flannel shirt at concealing yourself and keeping warm

however if that happened in game teamkilling would be unbearable

Yeah, I was also thinking of that. One time shooting AK's and RPG's at soldiers, the other minding your own business while they pass by.

But the Insurgents in the game seem pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ commited to liquidating Security forces. They go on full-on assaults with mortars, chemical weapons and bomb drones.

I personally would appreciate some more athentic apperal for the insurgent faction. All the outfits look like they went shopping at Pacsun or something.

So true. They should add at least a bit of dirt on the playermodels.

If someone invaded your country, what would you be wearing?
BRODAD3U5 Aug 16, 2018 @ 3:53pm
faded glory
Viper Aug 16, 2018 @ 4:11pm
Exactly my point, whatever you were wearing when SHTF

There isnt alot of Pacsuns in the middle east where this game takes place.
Perhaps some thawbs which are commonly worn in the region would make sense, ay?

Exacly.
In INS2, PMC a.k.a. secury wore desert camo uniforms and the insurgents had woodland camo clotches, which made both teams seperable enough. In Sandstorm however, the customisation is limited to fit the balance between the teams, so there's less team-killing.
Honestly, I still think it was a terrible idea to give Security woodland camo in sandstorm, I think they all should have remained with desert / mountain type light camos while insurgents should have gotten woodland and other darker tone clothes with camo.

I wouldn't mind a couple of solid color military blouses, leather jackets, and Heavy Insurgent's sweater making a return.

That being said, It's probably for the better that camouflage vs no camouflage be a decent indicator. I don't doubt that modders will change the skins of certain items though.

There will always be time for Cheeki Breeki when commander calls for chem mortars though!

It makes sense for security to have both modern military and outdated and inapproiate camoflague, as in this game they seem to be a combination of western militaries, and what seems to either be local resistance groups against the insurgents, or local militaries.
i would like to see some more "rough" looking clothes for the insurgents though, as the "roughest" top i have is a very plain and clean hoodie

probably this insurgent just broke AF. there are wide variety of rebel/insurgent group ranging from ragtag militia to "elite" group who sometimes having more-well equipped than average goverment forces.

assuming the conflict background is insipired by recent event in syria/iraq (canceled female kurds story). I would agree that current insurgent looks too civies. maybe they can make them looks meaner and military looking or atleast add customization for it at higher level.
