G36-K is actually a G36-C
I noticed that the gun labeled as "G36-K" is actually the little sister of what it is supposed to be. The G36-K is the rifle that's used by the german bundeswehr, but the G36-C is a gun mainly used by SWAT's. I don't wanna be a smartass, but I was quite dissappointed when I noticed how it's not actually the G36-K... You barely ever see that beauty of a gun in games T-T

They're the same guns dude, the G36K is just a karabiner version of the gun itself, meaning "long barreled" then the G36C is the compact version of the gun, meaning, PDW (Personal Defence Weapon) or the CQB (Close Quarter Battle) version.

Yeah, but there's the G36-K Icon in the game and the gun you get is the CQB version, which doesn't make any sense. That's like showing a M4A1 on the icon and giving you an M16A1. Their bodies may be the same or at least similar, but it's still not exactly the same gun.
why not have both?

It is the G36K the standard german army rifle is the G36 the G36K version is used by airborne and special units. So ingame is the correct G36K with false fire modes (G36 has no burst function) and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up reloud animation.

The G36K has a shorter barrel, but still longer than a G36C. The one we have in-game is a G36K.

G36K

G36C (yes I know it's airsoft but it's the best profile i could find)

And here the standard-issue G36

Look at the number of holes above the handguard.

"single, full-auto, 2-rd. burst, 3-rd. burst" directly from the H&K webpage on the G36K.

idc personally :)

There is no burst function, believe me i have shot with many different G36 and G36K in the german army from version A0 to A4 the only functions are safe (S) semi auto (E) and full auto (F).
https://www.heckler-koch.com/en/products/military/assault-rifles/g36/g36k/technical-data.html

The HK datas say the same, fire functions in technical datas are only SEF and i have never heard of other fire modes then semi and full auto.
MrBrightside Sep 5, 2018 @ 12:00pm
The G36 has different fire control groups for their lowers, one of them being Safe - Semi - 2 round burst - Auto, which is what we use in game. It may be standard to not have burst but that doesn't mean that the group you play as in Sandstorm cannot change this to whatever they want.
You don't play as any specific military group as security, we like to think of them as a PMC group with a mix of people from various branches that has different weapons and equipment available to them.

The model we have in game is the G36K, as many people have mentioned above it has the mid length barrel the K variant uses, not the shorter one the C uses.

@MrBrightside there are no really zero!!! versions built by Heckler & Koch with a burst function, if there exists somewhere a version with it, it is a private conversion. The burst mode does simply not exist for the G36, look at the Heckler & Koch website with their technical specifications. If there would be the option of a burst mode they would wrote it there and it would be a known fact: https://www.heckler-koch.com/en/products/military/assault-rifles/g36/g36/technical-data.html
So the G36K ingame burst mode is just a fantasy product and has nothing to do with realism.
The only H&K weapon with burst function ever built was the G11.

Weapon Artist here. I did model this G36 with the H&K German 4 position trigger group. This group fits all G36E, G36K, G36C, all G36 variants, and SL8 conversions. While this may not come factory from H&K with the 4 position group, some military armorys equip their rifles with this group per-unit request. Cheers.
Oberst Klink Sep 5, 2018 @ 11:51pm
There is no german 4 position trigger group, it is simply not used because there is no need for a three shot burst all you need in combat is single fire and full automatic. The only weapons who use it are americans because their fire drill is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and they use their rifle as an MG when they have full auto. So maybe they made it for the american market but it is not used in the european military. The G36 which have been sold to Saudi Arabia and the ones who are given to the PKK are all the standard G36 without any burst mode so it is very unrealistic ingame with burst mode, when 1 in 500.000 G36 have an upgraded burst mode.
Oberst Klink Sep 5, 2018 @ 11:58pm
And if there is a burst mode upgraded it is only two shots not three, but i said it before it is not used because there is no military use, if the fire drill is good. Only G36 with 3 - round burst are softair.
