If they add the ac556 i hope they get rid of the disgusting rail on the top and replace it with standard heat shield

That'd make no sense cause it'd make it harder for them to add a scope to it, you gotta remember the ac556 is a militarized model of the mini-14 so it has to be readily modified.

i dont see why not?? even from a military standpoint how does it make sense to add rails that most likely add weight to the gun and cost extra if you aren't gonna add an optic

Well you see, they don't add them, they're bought like that the military buys them like that, and nowadays the military buys premodified guns especially if they're harder to modify.

what??? at least in the US military, you are issued a rifle and attachments (laser/lights, optics )seperately. the military buys rifles and attachments seperately from their respective manufacturers.
and no, the military does not buy provisions for optics if they dont intend on using them.

Not for all guns for certain it is cheaper to buy a specific version of the gun that has the rails and everything already on it
