They are open so that you cant just lock down a few lanes and direction, watch one or two windows and be set
I absolutely love this, because it lines up well with the gameplay and with the feel that the game was goin for, but some people prefer the 3 lane clusterfu*k, cluttered maps that work greatly in CS or CoD but kinda gave Day of Infamy a split personality disorder imo
I think he meant, the players suck at playing in the map. Map is fine.
But if you still asking why, it's probably because most players don't stick and communicate with the rest of the team.
1 or 2 maps are badly designed in the sense that the enemy can fire into the main spawn point from cover.
Other than that, it's fine if you take the time to learn the maps
To be honest after playing red orchestra and rising storm (not to mention project reality) i think this is a good map design. You have your freedeom of movement and you have your chokepoints. You can defend and attack. Lack of cordination makes the game chaotic for the usual players and they got killed by peoples who just go prone covering a chokepoint.
They could use smoke, flash, covering fire, aggressive assault in mass numbers to get control on a part of the map but becouse they are disorginazed they got killed.
If you wanna see unbalnced and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ map there is sinjar. I play this game from the mod rout.
That map sucked then and then when it become playable in insurgancy 2014. Capturing A is need a high amount of organization and skill, without flanking the high ground and getting control of the road that led to point A you cannot win as Security forces.
Most of the map in sandstrom are not so straight forward so there is place to flank and attack from unpredicted angels. That is a good thing. (But optimazition will kill this game in 6 month so i will not buy it.)
