-INSURGENTS: - Female voice of an Iraqi
SECURITY: - British female voice
Oooooh boy...prepare for all the misogynistic man-children to come out in droves and come at ya for even dare to suggest that.
Why because he's suggesting female insurgents? That would be quite odd as it goes against cultural beliefs and theme. Think of it this way, the whole reason why these insurgencies happen in these countries is because the government tries to advance and move further from the Quran and you're suggesting these people decide to diverse their organisation.
Yeah that wasn't even close to what I wrote.
My point was it's brave of him to suggest female anything in this game because unfortunately there have been a rather sad display of threatened little boys who has been quite vocal in this forum lately about their belief that the inclusion of female player model is nothing but pampering to "a minority group" (their words, not mine) and is to blame for the decline of player numbers.
On your "there can be no female insurgents" speech, let's just stop for a second and make clear this game depicts a fictitious middle-eastern conflict and there is absolutely no reason as to why the Insurgents couldn't for example be Kurdish freedom fighters who as you may know includes a substantial amount of women.
Personally,
I'd be happy if there were far more voice sets (male and female, both security and insurgents) so I do not at all disagree with Fisher, if that's what you think.
Are we talking about the same community? I've never read or heard such things and if anything it was suggested plenty of times over the years in Ins2 that female characters should have been added to Security team. It's also a constant criticism for some other games of other devs too, like ArmA 3.
The Security team in Ins Sandstorm are the freedom fighters. And there is a female character.
The Insurgents represent the radical insurgent groups in the Middle East who follow a strict doctrine which among other things prevents women from being fighters.
Would be fun to hear some good old australian banter between players.
You mustn't be spending much time in the forum then, although the threads thankfully gets removed pretty quickly.
Source? or are you just making this up?
That's how Insurgents were described in the single player campaign descriptions.
Fair enough - but considering the campaign never actually came to be, it hardly seems like a valid basis for the otherwise non-existing narrative present in the multiplayer.
Furthermore the single player campaign description back then did NOT state "prevents women from being fighters", so that seems to be made up by CapoFantasma.
And it's not hard to imagine why a faction of radical islamic insurgents wouldn't have female fighters.
You are free to dislike that, but that's how it is.
