[FIXED] graphical settings reset on launch

I have tried restarting, reinstalling, adjusting nvidia control panel settings, and messing with file properties to force full control to my user.

Nothing has helped, the game continuously resets my graphics settings every launch.

I tried googling the issue, binging it, and duck duck going it. NOTHING.

Does anyone have this issue or have a fix? If not I'm sure it is just a bug that will be fixed eventually but its really frustrating when I change settings that require a game restart that don't change upon restarting.

[FIX]

If you're game doesn't save graphical settings, try these two fixes;

Go here: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Insurgency\Saved\Config\WindowsClient
Right click on GameUserSettings, and under the general tab, make sure the read only is checked.
Now try to launch your game.

IF THAT DOESN'T WORK.

Try unchecking read only.
Then launch your game.




Your settings should now save correctly.

Thanks for the reply, but I just checked and it is currently set to read only. Although I did just try to change controller.vdf inside the config file to read only but to no avail, my settings are still reset.

Where is the file for the settings? Will take a look.

Well my settings file is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sandstorm\EasyAntiCheat\Launcher


But my config is a folder not a file, and it has only one file inside named controller.vdf
That is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sandstorm\Engine\Config

Well I changed the file to read only, but still having the same issue. Oh well, thanks for helping me though!

OKAY! I fixed it!

Instead of changing the ini file to read only, I unchecked read only from all the files and that seemed to do the trick.
