The controls don't mention you can jump, and the inventory manager doesn't allow you to store strange keys. Sometimes, it'll store the thing on the next line down. When the game is paused and inventory is open, it still advances and you die; so hitting Escape and leaving that arrow on "Resume" doesn't mean the game isn't still going, except when it does--the clock pauses usually.
