How to skip opening valve bald guy?

Used to be able to skip him with escape. How come I can't now?

you have to click the screen and then hit a key ( basically to select the dota 2 window)

If you right click on Dota 2 in your library and choose Set Launch Options under the General tab, you can type in "-novid" (without the quotes) and it'll skip the intro video.
