1- use -nod3d9ex launch option
2- change "network quality" in dota to "low" or "high", check both.

and finally, dont use wireless. it can be the interference, nevertheless, it can also be the ISP having some interference or even the dota 2 server.

And finally, check these solutions in case any of them might help and at the bottom there are links to other peoples threads that might help.

Im not sure what exactly the problem could be, however i can give u the wall of solutions to (almost, sadly not all...) all problems, here it is:

===================================================
Basic solution easy to NETWORK/ files

Verify game cache integrity

delete 'appcache folder in steam directory

set network to low from high in dota 2 options

For graphics

tesst Vsync on/off

Remove/disable Firewall or anti-virus

=====================================================

right click steam icon then click properties~
u will see "target"at there writing >"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" right?
add space and "-tcp" example like this>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -tcp

=====================================================
1- Bad OS (corrupted sys32 files or so)

1- solution: reinstall OS

2- Faulty RAM

2- solution: take out 1 stick of ram, try use take out other try use, this is common when uve recently swapped RAM.

3- Overheating

3- solution: get core temp or real temp software to check CPU temp

4- bad graphics driver/card

4- solution: roll back graphics driver to the previous version, change card

5- Dota file interaction with hardware/ dota 2 files corrupted

5- 3 solutions:
... 5-1: Verify game cache integrity
... 5-2: delete 'appcache' folder from steam directory
... 5-3: reinstall Directx

Mac problem SOLUTIONS

Hello i found some of the solutions, the number "1" solution seems to work for many, sadly i use PC, not Mac so no testing was done, except by others who may have tried these.

Solutions:
1. SOLVED FOR SOME PEOPLE

use Steam Big Picture Mode.

2.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=32253278&postcount=74

this is the same error occured long ago in portal 2

3.
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Essentially: verify game cache

Load Steam
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

4.
try to delete 'appcache' folder in steam directory, then restart PC, might work.

5.

Apple Logo-> About this Mac

and then check if it tells you : intel HD graphics, or if it gives the card or what...

then... goi to system settings, and disable automatic switching between graphics crad and set the GPU u have as default (if possible)

idk if this will work but maybe...

USE ethernet connection not wireless, maybe help

==========================================================
Then

in CMD write
ipconfig /flushdns

if doesnt work then...

Go to properties, right click launch options, and paste:

+clientport 27006

+clientport allows you to have multiple clients connect from the same router.

Additionally, if you have trouble connecting in the future, replace the last 2 digits with any number between 05 and 32 (excluding 20).

with all that said, it could be the server, in this case....

go CMD and type:
ping <server ip>

or
tracert <server ip>

check

and after go to ur autoexec.cfg or make one in dota directory in CFG folder and put in it:

//cl_cmdrate "60"
//cl_updaterate "60"
//rate "80000"
//cl_interp "0"
//cl_interp_ratio "1"
//cl_smooth "1"
//cl_smoothtime "0.01"
//cl_lagcompensation "1"
//cl_pred_optimize "2"

"launching with -autoconfig or -safe mode
If Dota 2 is failing to start after preparing to launch, we recommend that you attempt to launch with either the -autoconfg or -safe launch option in that order.
Note:
Only one of these launch options can be used at a time. Once you are able to launch this game, you will need to remove these launch options if you wish to change any video settings.

Using the -autoconfig launch option
Open Steam
Go to the "Library"
Right-click the game which needs to be reconfigured
Select "Properties" from the menu
Click the "Set launch options..." button
Remove any launch options currently shown.
Type -autoconfig in the box and select OK.
Launch the game and test the issue again

Using the -safe launch option
Open Steam
Go to the "Library"
Right-click the game which needs to be reconfigured
Select "Properties" from the menu
Click the "Set launch options..." button
Remove any launch options currently shown.
Type -safe in the box and select OK.
Launch the game and test the issue again."

u have a graphics card of Nvidia or AMD Radeon? or what? its likely to be Stereoscopic 3D or something like that.

what you can do is roll back the graphics driver. or disable Stereoscopic 3D

some people solve this with Ctrl + T, its true.

to delete dota and steam go to C:\program files and find "steam" directory and delete it, then restart PC. But this may not solve the problem if its driver related.

======================================================
go to properties on dota in steam window:

type:
-high

check: {LINK REMOVED} for othger launch options

================================================
1- Verify game cache integrity, didnt solve it but u might as well do...

2- go in Dota and make audio defaults in options

3- heres my config cfg file: this fixed it, only what sound there is there

it is here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg (or similar)

snd_duckerattacktime "0.5"
snd_duckerreleasetime "2.5"
snd_duckerthreshold "0.15"
snd_ducking_off "1"
snd_ducktovolume "0.55"
snd_gamevoicevolume "1.000000"
snd_gamevolume "1.000000"
snd_mixahead "0.1"
snd_musicvolume "0.566973"
snd_mute_losefocus "1"
snd_pitchquality "1"
snd_voipvolume "1.0"
sound_device_override ""
speaker_config "-1"

==============================================

if so, then...
goto C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
find "steam.exe"

and run it in compatibiliy mode for Win 7 , so 'proerpties' and compatibility and select win 7

this should work

heres what a bootstrapper is:

Bootstrapper:
During the installation of computer programs it is sometimes necessary to update the installer or package manager itself. To make this possible, a technique called bootstrapping is used. The common pattern for this is to use small executable files which update the installer and starts the real installation after the update. This small executable is called bootstrapper. Sometimes the bootstrapper installs other prerequisites for the software during the bootstrapping process too.[1]

[1]- {LINK REMOVED}

=====================

Goto Task manager, then rightclick dota.exe --> affiliation, and then use only core 0 and 1

on ore the other should work, CPU 100% means probably the 1st solution is the right one

===================
D3D device

there are many potential solutions, but i think this 1 will work:

launch options: -nod3d9ex

also check

http://steamcommunity.com/app/231140/discussions/0/792924412485992568/

another solution is to type ur native screen res into launch options: eg:
-w1600 -h900

would also like to add, if u run 'dxdiag' in windows "run" or what ever it is called, u get some info on that

and also if u can set dota 2 to non-fullscreen it might also work

You may also be able to delete 'appcache' folder in steam directory, then verify game cache integrity then restart PC, but that it the standard first solution that may not work for everything.

Some people suggest deleting config files. (not tested)
