How to make the camera follow your hero

I know this is considered blasphemy but... I'm a LoL player. So i wanted to know if there was any way to get the camera to stick to the hero, and make it so i don't have to repeatitaly click to keep my hero moving? I might change to the normal way after a while.

You may have your hero centered on the camera by either double clicking their portrait, or double clicking the hero, I believe. Keep in mind you wont have as much space besides what is around your hero.

There is no "click and drag" movement in this game. You have to click every time you want to change direction. It takes literally no time to get used to. Just click more.

You can center camera around your hero with one of the f keys i think maybee f1. I rebound it to my space bar and if i want it to follow my hero i just double click space and hold it. I really wish it was a toggle. I was also a LoL player and liked the camera following my hero, but after a while you just learn to click on the mini map to where you need to be looking and holding shift to que up orders.

why are you watching your character all the time anyways?

I came from LoL but i unlocked my camera in that game too because i am not a dumbass.

in the options the hot key for "select all units" will center the camera over you. you can set it to something easy to reach.

however, it's time you learn to play with unlocked camera, many skills are beyond the edge of your screen range. and keeping the camera where you want it via mouse hitting edge of screen is really easy once you have practice. just make sure to set the camera deceleration and camera speed in the options to what suits you with out straining your hand to move camera. i use 5.0 deceleration for more smooth movements, and 40.0 camera move speed. also my razor naga mouse has some deceleration setting of its own that i use in addition. so i can accurately have camera be where i want it with no straining. but it did take some practice at first.

This is the third thread i have looked through to find out how to do this and every single one had people saying "You should'nt do that. Play it my way because it's better" Like ♥♥♥♥ off. games are meant to be played for fun and my idea of fun is having the camera follow me so i dont have to ♥♥♥♥ the edge of my screen with a mouse for thirty minutes. Heroes of the Storm has the movement and combat down perfectly. I'd like those exact character controls on other mobas with items and characters that are different.

Using "heroes of the storm" as a template for how MOBAs should work is pretty stupid. Not that the rest of what you said was genius by any means. Get that casual nonsense out of here.

I have played this game for a very long time, but some of my friends are finding the camera movements: hard to control,
So is there any way to PERMANENTLY make it follow your hero?

I honestly don't know how you could play with a camera locjed on your hero. Seems like you would be really limited on what you are seeing and doing. I'd really just recommend getting used to how this game plays without a locked camera or you will never do well. How will you ever do something simple like blink in to initiate if your camera is stuck on your hero?

this thread was over a year ago. I got used to the DOTA controls.
