Tips for Zeus

So... I've been staying away from supporting in my last few games to practice my carrying and mid skills a little bit and my last games with Zeus were quite fun (I know he can somewhat support and be played in other lanes, but I used him as a core in the mid lane).

I went for Aghs + Refresher build, but as I understand, this may be a little trench, I guess. I just rushed these items to make people rage (and they raged lol), but I suppose buying some other items first can be more effective depending on the situation. Can you guys give me some tips?

I've been thinking about mobility items like Blink Dagger or Force Staff, maybe Euls to increase his move speed and get a cool disable... Also, for late game, would guys pick Octarine or Refresher? I used the R + Refresher + R combo in a teamfight and it was pretty... OP, I suppose, but Octarine seems to work better overall, especially considering the long CD of Refreser. I don't know...

There's a problem with stacking in the lower tiers though... you lose your tower and then the other team eats your stacks

Well, I'll practice, but I probably won't use it very often. Athough, if I'm in the lane and my lane partner is pushing like hell, I guess if I leave to stack a little bit might be useful. I think Zeus can clean the stacks on his own well enough with his first spell (assuming the carry doesn't remember to check the stacks, which is often in my bracket...).

what i do is bottle first item then look for ganks early in the game. and then buy arcane boots. once thats set. rush an octarine core. forget about other items because zeus skills are powerful enough to obliterate enemies by just using abilities alone. you dont have to worry about being late in the stats game. forming an ocatarine core will get you scalling up the stat bar by simply buying its recipe items. after you get that core. make an aghs and refresher. and youre set. easy as that. ggwp. thats mostly what i do with zeus when i want to win. also. if someone has silence. never get caught. stay back always on fights. dont initiate. always cast behind your scapegoats. and be aware with the map. if an enemy hero is dying and got away from your allies. WRATH DAT MOFO. you can also tell you allies to ping you when they want a wrath. just trust them when in doubt. use wrath only when know you will get the kill. NEVER KILL STEAL from your allies when you're not behind the networth. your teammates will understand that ks if you really need it.

Your playstyle is pretty similar to mine, but I typically run:

Zeus with eul's isn't that impressive. As a purely defensive item, force staff and blink are both better and he has no offense to chain it to (unlike jakiro or lina).

Yes, that's me. I actually wanted play Zeus that match because I lost 3 matches as Zeus the previous night (despite winning early game in all 3 matches) and wanted revenge, but you handled yourself very well. Good to see we had a team that actually wanted to finish the game.

Actually some people rages about ks even when it's not a ks. Just don't bother with those people. Use ur ulti to also scout when the enemmies are missing,when your team is ganking. Just don't steal a kill that's obviously gonna happen.People are gonna rage like crazy and it's a waste of ulti.

I don't really like the idea of him supporting either, but I saw a bunch of zeus supporting, so it seems kinda expected in some cases, I guess.

He's more of a greedy support/semi support like enigma. He's capable of supporting since he doesn';t rly need that much item. He just needs some mana regen and he's good. Also dewarding,scouting,blink canceling,lane dominance and some other stuff.

Utility items like blink are good for zeus. I prefer builds like blink to eul to hex or something than the classic aghs+refresher. Utility items are good since zeus is so slow and not mobile, if they catch you offguard or jump at you with bkb ur dead.Zeus is so much more than just ulti.

I know some people rage about KS. It's like they play for their KDA rathar than to win (and assists do count in your KDA. I don't know why people care so much about that). I found some of these players and they were always the worst members of the team. I, personally, don't give a crap. As long as the enemy is dead, everyone wins. Not really playing for my score. Of course that are scenarios where wasting powerful ults just to kill a hero that isn't even a threat is kinda of a letdown, but overall, I don't mind that much.

As for utility Zeus, sounds ok, but not as fun as Aghs + Refresher combo imo. I don't know... It just that when you are far ahead and you ult twice to bully and kill, from across the map, the underleved supports or/and squishy carries... they just rage and tilt. It's awesome. Also, when you initiate a teamfight with this combo, if no one uses a bkb or some sort of magic immunity or resistance, they will lose most of their heath. I try to be flexible though. If I see that an utility build is the way to go in the game, I'll do it.
