There are "jukes...play with fog and trees" in Dota 2.
Also, if you're a "DOTA 1" veteran as you claim then you should know that there's absolutely nothing stopping you from playing DotA right now. You can still fire up WC3 and play it.
there jukes, but " less " compare to DOTA 1, DOTA 1 you can easily escape from enemy only by jukes on the tree for example. and you can see those pro player jukes are different between DOTA 1 and 2. some of the reason i can see is because of the map it self and the ability of heroes dmg and items etc.. all related. yes ntg stopping us from playing DOTA but its not as fun as before, i saw majority pub players say the same at social media , " dota is dead " but not much players realize about the cause. i really hope valve read this comment :) and make some change.
Well golly, if a few people on "social media" said that "dota is dead" I guess Valve should just shut down one of their top-played and top revenue amassing games.
but unfortunately I feel it has made the old player less enjoy the game. At the beginning DOTA 2 was good. but the longer it gets worse. this is what i saw. our opinions may be different, but I hope they do a survey and look at the majority opinion on this. because i feel this since around 2-3 years before and after that they introduced " turbo mode " .
Yes, I've heard people claiming that the game is dead or dying since it was still in closed beta.
Here's a link to DotA that you can still play on WC3. If you think DotA is more fun, there's nothing stopping you from playing it. Of course, as you have stated that you're a DotA veteran, then surely you're already aware of this.

Some people might point out the fact that Dota 2 continues to break esports prize pool records, that it's an indication that the game is still very healthy and not on the brink of death as you seem to insinuate.
for your point number 2, please read mine carefully, or else you never get what iam trying to say, i told you i feel this since 2-3 years ago, not before that.. dota 2 started since 2012 if iam not wrong. now is 2021, so thats mean i dont have any problem with dota 2 for 5-6 years ago, so why i should play WC3 now? for your point no 3. yea esports are still there for sure, why not? I my self also still playing dota 2 every single day. so please understand what iam try to say or else you dont need to reply, I love dota so much. but i just say what my opinion about this game now. if you can't understand what i mean, don't accuse me of something I didn't mean. i understand your point but i think you didnt get what my point yet. and it is not obligatory to understand. you are free to give your opinion but you must truly understand other 1st before you reply them. btw sorry for bad english.. i know its really bad.
agree about ppl getting better, but iam not talking about opponent, iam talking about player him self. if you talk about better, then go see pro player. its pro vs pro . same thing happen, less jukes compare to the pass, when you jukes and opponent can read that a different story, my story is you can't even feel want to jukes them because of the condition of the map.. fog.. the trees position..the ground height..etc.. i think you can go google dota 2 pro jukes. you will find only old video there. sorry for my bad english.
most of pro players are old player. and i talking about patch around 2-3 years back. dota 2 is there since 2012 if iam not wrong. already 9 years. correct me if iam worng. sorry for bad english
the title is just to draw attention. keep reading, after reading still cant get what i mean, just blame my english or else maybe someone has less experience
right now none of my 15+ RL friends play dota anymore, because of all the changes. runes - exp - new map most and as you said less juking.
i kinda hope they bring big patches to the oldschool style or similar stuff.
i mean not reverse patches, but think about what the players like (this was initial idea of dota) and work on that.
