As you said, suggestion number three is the least likely, but my god would it be a relief for those of us with several hundred edits.
As for the custom music for downloaded CAWs, a simple feature to link a song to the id of the caw would be enough, havent check the code yet but maybe its doable via mod. I will take a look at it.
This!
The whole point of the game is to download workshop creations and play with them. Now I have to create my own copy of the character in order to add custom music? Now I have two characters, one with music, one without? It's just really wonky. You can't download music on the workshop so why not let me edit my downloaded workshopped characters?
Here's how you fix the situation.
ANY field or setting you edit in a downloaded workshopped wrestler would NOT update when the original author posts updates. Of course you should be able to remove your custom options to update the wrestlers. Here's how it would work. You'd have some kind of button or toggle that would reset THAT specific field back to the default that the author set.
Let's say that I download a wrestler and he has brown hair. If I change the color of that wrestlers hair, it should stay brown, even if the author uploads new changes to the character. So basically any setting that I change will not be overwritten by the original author, unless I say "Set back to default."
This way you could add custom music easily to downloaded wrestlers and you wouldn't have to mess with the whole local vs workshop duplicate characters. I really can't see a downside to what I'm suggesting here if it's technically possible to do. This solution would allow people to customize or tweak small visual changes or moves to their liking without needing to copy the character entirely and they'd still get updates from the author. For example I may not like the look of a character but I might like the logic. If the author is constantly updating the logic I'd like to keep getting those updates, but not the visual updates.
I guess you could break the sections down in sections and check whether you want them to auto update or not. If not, new updates would respect the changes you made.

I don't see a downside to it and it seems like it would solve a lot of problems.
Add music looping support.
Tested a few audio files that would work in other games (MUGEN, MT Framework games [UMVC3, Dragon's Dogma, etc.], RPG Maker XP and beyond) to find that FPWW doesn't support .ogg tags (LoopStart, LoopEnd and/or LoopLength). This isn't a problem for entrance music, but it is for fights that last a long time. While simply extending the track is an option, adding support for loop points would help to cut down bloated files on the user's part while allowing for a quality sound experience.
Add a menu DJ (at least for the creation menus).
While I've grown to like the default menu music, the length of time one tends to spend in the creation menus with the same song could drive people to mute the game altogether. Adding support to use custom music in these menus, as well as a button to fade into the next (randomly selected) song, for starters, would be a welcome addition.
Add the option to adjust volume during a match.
There's bound to be players who will not be able to anticipate each track for how loud it will sound in game. Having to back out of a match/league/tourney all the way to the main menu because one track happened to be particularly loud/quiet is tedious, and adding the option to adjust the music mid match would be a quick solution for the user.
as
a
example you could choose all 8 wrestler themes and it will overwrite that wrestler theme at the moment for that one match
in tournament having the option of selecting all wrestler theme b4 the tournament mode starts it would greatly alleviate people problems
without needing to duplicate a caw.
nor having to have a button to add a wrestler theme in or not
i see that being a easier thing to do than having a update or not button.
