Workshop not updating, online play not available

Well I redownloeded this game after not playing it for a couple of years. Recently, I unsubscribed from some workshop items and downloaded some new ones, but the roster hasn't updated. Apparently online play isn't available either but... I'm posting this, so I'm clearly online?? I'm very confused as to what is going on.

Oh, and apparently gamepad controls show consistently at the bottom of the screen when I have only my keyboard plugged in. Nothing major, but I thought I'd mention that.
