The two times I had my wrestlers seriously injured is after they get hit with a critical and they started a rivalry immediately after, then I booked them on the next card and they got submitted with a torso-targeting move. After a wrestler eats a critical, the body parts that get targeted by the move that critically hit them get red, meaning that they're in the worst possible state of damage. So if he gets hit with a powerslam, their torso will be red, if they get critically submitted by an armbar, their arms will be red, if it's a piledriver it'll be their neck etc.
In both of my cases where my wrestlers got seriously injured, they were critically hit by a Karelin drop, which got their neck and torso to be red, then they got submitted with a move that targets the torso (in one case I remember it being an elevated boston crab, but I don't remember the other move). Neither of their conditions were poor, it was normal in both cases, though I think that both the condition and the damage of body parts affect how likely it is for a wrestler to get seriously injured.
So my theory of the colored body parts just being for kayfabe match performance reasons is totally wrong. That is disappointing. Think my idea is pretty awesome. oh well.
