Fire Pro didn't really take off outside of the same small niche it's always had (even with the backing of New Japan), and a KOC type game would be a significantly more expensive endeavor; probably requiring that they start from scratch, instead of build on a previous game like with Fire Pro Wrestling World (which is basically Fire Pro Wrestling Returns with DLC).
King Of Colosseum was basically a 3D Fire Pro wrestling game for the Sony Playstation 2 released in the very early 2000s featuring wrestlers from different wrestling organizations.
There was King Of Colosseum and a follow up game King Of Colosseum 2.
I will have to buy an NTSC ps2 one day so i can play all these good wrestling games.
Or even if it retained it's isometric point of view, but the characters were 3D.
I'd be happy with that even with graphics similar to Smackdown Here Cones The Pain
maybe little improvments, like i think FIFA 20 now has fifa street and beach modes, i haven't played FIFA since like FIFA 17, because it's the same s*** each time.
There's also rumours floating around that Yukes is set to create an AEW video game. But, as far as I can see at the moment, the rumour is just a pipe dream.
With AEW's boom in popularity right now (and a mixture of recognizable faces to Japanese audiences), I think we'll see an AEW video game long before anything else.
I think Yukes would do another Wrestle Kingdom game before taking on something like KoC.
If there is no AEW game announcement by E3 this year or whatever AEW considers as their WrestleMania type event then I do not think they will get a game because I could see them trying to capitalize on the PS5 and new Xbox consoles by releasing much needed competition to WWE 2K21 release on them at the end of this year otherwise they will just miss the boat and the hype they still might have.
