Differences between the PS4 and Steam versions?
Has there been anything said about how the PS4 version of the game will be different from the Steam version?

From what I seen, there is nothing different besides the menu and character select designs. But hopefully we get those designs here too.

PS4 version comes with the NJPW DLC out of the box, and uses different servers for storing edit wrestlers/refs/ring textures. PC users have to buy the NJPW story mode and roster separately on Aug 28.

That's the entirety of it!

Huh... so that's pretty much it? No differences to the actual edits and what not?

What about being able to add our own .jpgs, .pngs, etc. when making like ring mats, aprons, and the like? Will we have to import them in a fashion similar to what 2K's doing with logos for their WWE games?

No clue how PS4 is going to handle importing assets, devs haven't given any details on it.

Right.

I'm guessing there might be some kind of uploading service, that or like a paint tool possibly.

Yea I've read some stuff about that on fire pro wrestling arena's website in the forums.. I'm sure they will have something like that..I mean nearly every other previous fire pro game has implemented that feature in some form or another.

To OP, while I'm sure your question was focused on differences between PS4 and Steam version "as released", I just want to point out that the Steam version has a lot of additional features via mods which PS4 won't have, in case your question is in the "which should I buy" vein. PC has extended royal rumbles, new match modes (e.g., Iron Man, Sumo), new edit parts, heel beatdowns and walkouts, booking options, etc. PS4 will be more convenient in terms of knowing the hardware will play as expected, not having to set up files, etc. but Steam version will always have more content due to mods. If both are options for you, get the PC version and add the DLC. So many more options. Plus, how can an edit really be Dusty Rhodes if you don't see the splotches on his belly-welly, if you weel. :)

This made me LOL. Thanks for the laugh, man.

You're welcome. Unfortunately the splotch seems to have killed the custom edit thread on Arena. I jokingly said with the splotches' release, why would we even bother with other edit parts... and no one has released anything since. :(

I'll put more stuff out eventually, I just need to fix the highlights on my prior releases first.

Too bad we can't upload modded edits anymore. I would love to see your edits first hand.

It's a shame there isn't anybody working on anything like hot-swappable outfits or anything!

Well, aside from Ace, who is doing just that. :V

Yes, I understand Ace in part wanted creators to be able to upload 4 default edits and then use the costume extensions to add the edit parts. I haven't had time to try his mod out but plan to if only because of the number of Super Destroyer color costumes I need to make. But I don't know if I will be uploading much to the workshop or not. I use a lot of modded moves as well.
