NJPW Update + UI Update coming to Steam August 28!

UI update will be a free update. NJPW wrestlers + Story Mode will be DLC. No word on price yet.

Other interesting facts from that interview:

- The PS4 port is basically done.
- 50 new moves total with NJPW update.
- SWA - the fake default wrestlers - will have a part in the Story Mode. Spike made cartoon avatars for them in the style of Fire Pro Wrestling G.
- Fire Promoter is coming this year.
- "And just to keep everybody busy while we're coming up with these new DLCs, we'll be pushing out free move packs."

VGCC: In the landmine deathmatch, can we fight outside on the barbed wire again? Can we get the option to turn landmine off so we can exit the ring?
DM: Yes definitely. I would also like to add that option to the game. So if enough people want it, that will give me the budget I need to push it forward.
VGCC: So definitely be loud and push for things.

^ This can be added if enough people request it. This Fire Pro D feature coming back would be great.

VGCC: Ok. We have a question here about crowd brawling. Crowd brawling has become really popular in New Japan, any way to implement that into Fire Pro?
DM: That's actually a really good question. The crowds in Fire Pro Wrestling World are...we kinda changed the way that we do the crowds. So now they're basically like edit wrestlers. So technically they're the same assets. Crowd fighting is a possibility. It's currently not planned. If the game does well and I'm able to get an additional budget, it's one of those things I would like to work on in the future.

Are there any promotional images of these out yet?

The NJPW photo content hasn't made me especially enthusiastic (it seems to me that photos clash with the style of the game). The inclusion of cartoon character graphics in the management game, though, has me perking up. Even if the system isn't designed to do any customization on those resource, it's likely that a mod to add or swap in other characters will be possible, and I'd love to try my hand at illustrating other characters in the same style.

I didn't see any military press slams like where the wrestler presses a guy not only 2 or 3 times but 8 times in a row.

Do you think we will have more variations of the military press slams?

It's one of favorite moves in the entire game. In fact every wrestling game.
